So happy that I can actually keep up with this drama! Waiting a whole week and watching it on Saturday knowing that tomorrow I can still study for Math and Japanese just makes me happy! So I just (partially) finished Rebound (Japanese drama). And I'll give a small summary (but they usually end up being long).
SUMMARY:
(Short summary) So the beginning of the episode starts off with a small recap of what happened last week. We meet Oba who's a chubby woman who is determined to become skinny. Once she does she immediately gets an offer from a magazine company and gets the job to go to a famous cake store and write a report on them. Her condition is when she eats cake she becomes nonstopable. [...] So in the end she rebounds back into her chubby self. She looses her job and depressingly leaves her "prince" the guy who makes cake. And tries to avoid anything else in life. However, amazingly the "prince" creates the cake that rings the bells of her heart so she immediately thought that he wouldn't mind whether she was fat or not. (but it's not true. he actually minds). She bargs through the doors and he mistakens her for someone else.

Now. He starts talking to her about himself and his amazing store. She wants to explain herself and tell him that she's actually Oba but he doesn't listen and continues talking about himself. He also starts getting angry at Oba because he's waiting for her (The thing is that she's actually there but she just doesn't look like the Oba he knows). Oba starts working why he's so worked up for *Oba. She wonders if it's because she's (Oba) is his girlfriend. He continuously denies it but has a happy face on while talking about her. he says it's because he wanted to see her happy face when she eats the cake she's satisfied with that's made by him. Oba starts to feel bad and wants to tell him that she's Oba but right then he asks her what her name is. The scene then skips to the next time slot where she's at home with her friend. Who's asking her why she's now suddenly working for her "prince".
Suddenly Imai (her prince) calls for more information and tells her to come to work tomorrow. She lightens up but then realizes that it's a bad idea. She then gets a call again from Imai but this time on her cell phone. On the house phone he believes he's talking to chioko (which is the chubby Oba) and on the other phone he's talking to Oba.
Before when she answered her cellphone she mistakenly did the Chubby Oba's accent that confused Imai but it seems as if he did not notice. (Kinda weird cause he just called Chioko before he called Oba. He Should realize...) He starts asking Oba why she didn't come to the store and complains. She looks for an excuse and can't find one but in the end she asks him to wait for her for 2 weeks. When 2 weeks are up she'll show up. He reluctantly agrees and hangs up. She hangs up and immediately gets to work. She takes out a working out CD and puts it into her TV. She starts dancing along with the people.
The next day at work (she was fired in the last episode) she starts packing up her stuff knowing her boss doesn't want to see her. As she's packing Imai's previous girlfriend (who also works at EDEN - the company) comes up to Oba and tells her that she'd ask the Boss for help. Oba believing this gets happy but once the Boss walks by everyone runs away. The boss asks for Oba's attention and tells her that she's not being fired. Instead she gets a second chance. She has to write a Fatty Diary. And it will be published into the magazine if it's good. But if it isn't good she's transferred to the fishing department of the magazine company. She cheers up and the scene changes.
We are now at the cake store. Imai is STILL talking about himself but this time the little girl from the last episode pops up at the doors. She enters and Imai asks whether she would like his world famous cake. She lightens up and takes a bite out of the cake and Oba starts narrating: "I can just hear the bells that are ringing as she's eating."
The little girl leaves and they are once again left alone. He rushes to the back of the store as he receives a phone call. But it's just from a video store so he ignores it and puts down his phone in which, has Oba's picture. (Ouuu you sneakkyyy~! Imai ;D)
Chioko (which is Oba) starts to ask whether he likes "Oba" or not and he continues to deny it. It says it's because of all her hard work she fell asleep and he felt like taking a picture of her. She starts to ask why he doesn't just text her or call her? He then realizes he could but makes up an excuse like: "I find it annoying." She suggest he text her so he tries. and Ends up writing the most unlikable text. Oba asks whether he could just keep it simple like: I'll wait for you. Or It's okay! He gets annoyed and demands Chioko to type it. By accident she blurts out: "For MYSELF?" He gets confused but does not care. "Yes! Type it!" and hands her the phone. She writes out a very pleasant text and gives up. She hands it to him as he immediately sends it and she excuses herself to read her own text.
We then see her at home again - working out to keep her job, to meet Imai and to make her doctor happy (like he hasn't noticed that something is wrong). She realizes that fighting this calories war is hopless without a plan and leader so she gives up and calls her doctor who believes everything is still okay. As he listens to her denial of all the words he's said he realizes that she may be heavier than he thought. Before he gets to yell at her she hangs up and looks into the mirror.
The next day we see her - in her 2 weeks. She takes the stairs and does the same thing she was doing before to keep her weight lower. She doesn't eat like she normally does and does morning jogs (As you can see in the picture, even the old grandpa out runs her) but still... she wasn't able to loose everything in 2 weeks. She attends her work and her boss is now fed up and sends her away to the fishing department. Her boss tells her to wait for the call for the transfer.
She ends up being really depressed and walks home very slowly instead of jogging. As she's getting closer to her apartment she stops at a park because she doesn't want to pick up Imai's call. She promised him that she would meet him after 2 weeks but in the end she still didn't loose enough weight to meet him. When she's at the park she meets the guy she fell in love with before all this. He's basically sad about the fact that he got told at work.
But then he tells her that he feels much better everytime he's with her. He asks whether he could touch her (as in lean on her and literally touch her fat because he likes... the jiggly feeling..? - Awkward). He ends up laying his head down on her lap and telling her that she does not need to go on a diet because he likes her the way she is. She then starts to question herself as to whether she should just give up on Imai. She hits herself to the thought and just stays still.
(Ignore the toolbar in the picture!)She goes home and receives a package from home. It's a photo of a weird guy that her parents are suggesting her to marry. She ends up having a chat with her mom telling her that she won't approve to this. Her mom understands.
She goes to her doctor the next day seeking for help. She wants to cut down her weight to 99 within 2 weeks. Her doctor says he can't do it because 1. she'd end up at the hospital and 2. she'd have to spend all her time here meaning cut ties from everything until she has succeeded. She says she'll do it and he reconsiders. He lets her go home to think about it.
She wants to go back to Imai's store and tell him that she's quitting but then he gets hurt. she shows her concern but realizes that she REALLY has to quit or else he'll be REALLY depressed. He tells her that he had given up on Oba now because she won't show up. Oba's friend who was the ex of Imai suddenly shows up and Calls Oba by her name. Oba quickly drags her out and request that she doesn't tell Imai because she wants Imai to see her when she's skinny not when she's fat. Her coworker agrees and leaves for the day.
(I forget the reason) but Oba and Imai suddenly start to get into a fight and argue. (Oh I remember). So Oba request that she quit and Imai gets angry saying that all woman are the same and just leave and have no feelings. Oba gets angry and doesn't want to argue with him so she tries to leave but trips over a cardboard box. Imai feels responsible and tells her that he's going to carry her to the hospital. Her being super heavy says no but he insist and in the end they do get to the hospital but it seems that Imai needs to get seen more than Oba. :P
At the hospital he seems to finally get it and calls Oba. At that moment Oba was still there so she had to run to avoid getting a call from Imai who was just right beside her. He tells her that he's going to be waiting for her for 2 more weeks. He tells her that he's already planned the next desert he's going to make. He asks what she likes and she responds Cream puffs because that's how she met her best friend that she lives with right now. He's now determined to make a good cream puff.
Because she sees his determination she also rushes to her doctor with determination to slim down by 2 weeks. When she arrives at the doctors they are already ready with a schedule for her and a special medication that is still unknown in Japan. She still takes the risks and takes it. She goes under physical training and fat burning techniques. During that time Imai is also learning to create tasty cream puffs. All these scenes are shown like a diary entry by Oba. Soon, they both achieve what they want.
Oba's coworker believing that Oba is forever gone tries to text Imai telling him that Chioko's actually Oba. However, right at that moment Oba *skinny Oba, Pops up out of nowhere. She heads to the office handing in a proposal of her hard work she went under to become skinny. Everyone's amazed by how she did it and how she looks.
Her Boss is satisfied with what she has and tells her that she won't be going to the fishing department but she wishes for better work next time. She feels like today's a happy day and calls Imai telling him that she can finally see him. She waits for him at a park and the little girl from the store shows up and hands her a paper box with a cream puff in it.
Oba takes a bite and hears the amazing bells in her head. She wants to see Imai and gets tempted to call him asking why he's not here. As his phone rings the camera angle changes and we see a small part of Imai. It is then angled at a chubby guy who gets pushed down my accident. He continously tries to get up as Oba walks up closer. As she looks closely she realizes...
It's Imai...

Hope you liked the summary. It ended up being long and I watched this in the afternoon it's now like.. (the morning?) night time. :S I'm tired now so I'm going to sleep! Gnights!
